Summary

Hinoto is crying in her dreamscape. Her evil reflection starts talking to her and tries to convince her she should sleep to get away from her pain and suffering. Hinoto is able to fight her off. Dark Hinoto smiles and disappears, for now.

Fuma sends Nataku on an undisclosed mission. Kanoe appears and asks where he is going. Fuma doesn't answer the question, but instead tells her that her true wish will soon be granted. Kanoe looks surprised.

Sorata is sitting on Tokyo Tower watching the sunset. He whispers Arashi's name and wonders where she went.

At the cemetery, Aoki is praying over Karen's grave. He tells her that when everything is over he will come again with his family.

Yuzuriha is sitting on the park bench where she met with Kusanagi in episode 10. She is sad because Kusanagi didn't show up again. She really wants him to meet the new Inuki.

Kusanagi is standing on a building watching the sun set over Tokyo. Fuma in there and tells Kusanagi that the end is near. He says that the sadness of humans is nothing compared to the sadness of the earth and that the Earth's wish was to not be destroyed by humanity. He tells Kusanagi that as a DoE he should sense Earth's sorrow better than anyone. Fuma says Nataku is on the move and that he (Fuma) wants to see what Kusanagi really wishes for.

Kamui joins Sorata at Tokyo Tower. Kamui tells Sorata he wants to talk to him privately. He pulls one of Hinoto's paper charms out of his pocket. He said it was the message they received in Ginza. He tells Sorata that he has seen the same charm before, when he was attacked by the "men in black suits" on his way to school (episode 1) and again at Togakushi Temple, when the men in black followed Tokiko (episode 11). They figure out that it was Hinoto who sent the attackers and that she has been dividing their strength by sending the DoH out separately for missions.

Hinoto is spying on Kamui and Sorata's conversation. Dark Hinoto says that they have figured it out but it doesn't matter because they won't have the time to do anything. She hugs Hinoto from behind and tells her she will grant her wish and she does not have to hurt or suffer any longer.

At the park, Inuki starts growling. Yuzuriha looks up to see Nataku approaching her. They recognize one another as DoH and DoE. Nataku says he will destroy her. Yuzuriha says she will not let him and forms her kekkai. Kusanagi watches the exchange from a nearby tree.

Aoki sees Yuzuriha's kekkai and goes to help her. Sorata and Kamui also see the kekkai but are immediately surrounded by the black suited men. As they start to fight the black suited men, Yuzuriha starts to fight Nataku. She is pleasantly surprised as little Inuki is able to turn into a sword just like the original Inuki. She attacks Nataku, but Nataku is the stronger fighter. Aoki is trying to reach Yuzuriha but his path is blocked by Kusanagi. Kusanagi tells Aoki he is not in the mood to fight, so Aoki tells him to get out of the way. Kusanagi refuses. Aoki attacks with his wind blades, cutting Kusanagi. Kusanagi causes the ground to explode beneath Aoki as they both jump into the air. Kusanagi asks Aoki if he can hear the Earth scream. He tells Aoki that humans pollute the air and water while the Earth struggles to survive. Aoki agrees with him but says he still believes in the human race. He tells Kusanagi that only humans mourn for all those that are living and that he will continue to believe in people. He attacks Kusanagi again. Kusanagi strikes the pavement with his fist and causes the ground to blow up around Aoki, knocking him unconscious. He says to himself that he wants to believe too…

Sorata and Kamui are completely surrounded by the men in black when Dark Hinoto opens a portal beneath them. Sorata and Kamui sink into the portal and are turned into stone statues.

Kanoe visits Hinoto in her dreamscape. Hinoto is slumped over and looking down. She admits to Kanoe that she has no hope left and that the DoE will win and the DoH will die. Kanoe laughs and grabs a handful of Hinoto's hair. She says that she always felt like an encumbrance because she didn't have the dream gazing ability of her sister. She tells Hinoto that it's thanks to her that she will continue to exist as a Dreamgazer from now on and that very soon she will see the future of her dream. Kanoe then leaves, laughing. Dark Hinoto lifts her head and smiles. She says that Kanoe will be able to grant her wish, that she will continue to live as a Dreamgazer.

Yuzuriha is lying injured on the roof of a shrine with her sword beside her. Her kekkai is slowly dissolving and she is breathing heavily. She hears something and looks up, calling Kusanagi's name. She asks if he is there. He says yes. He is sitting on another section of the roof behind her. Yuzuriha tells him she knows he is a DoE. This surprises Kusanagi. She tells him she had a feeling he was since the first time they met, but she didn't care because he was so kind of her and Inuki. She starts crying and tells him that even if he is a DoE, she wants to protect him and that she loves him. Kusanagi listens with a thoughtful expression on his face. He asks her if she thinks he is horrible, because he is a DoE. Yuzuriha says she would never think that because that is the destiny he has chosen for himself. She then collapses. Kusanagi notices with alarm that the kekkai is dissolving more rapidly now. Yuzuriha is losing a lot of blood from a deep wound in her arm. Nataku appears and asks Kusanagi if they are finished talking. Kusanagi replies that they are. Nataku tells him to step aside; he will now finish her off. Kusanagi steps aside. Nataku's ribbons dart forward.

Dark Hinoto is laughing because there can be only one future and the DoH will die. As she is laughing, Hinoto, reflected in the water, slowly draws a knife. She stabs herself in the chest, cutting Dark Hinoto off mid-laugh. She holds onto Dark Hinoto as they sink together into the dark depths of the dreamscape.

At that moment, Sorata and Kamui return to human form and the men in black suits are gone. They notice that Yuzuriha's kekkai has disappeared. Sorata tells Kamui to go to Hinoto and he will check on Yuzuriha.

Back at the shrine, Kusanagi has jumped in front of Yuzuriha and is protecting her. Nataku's ribbons are wrapped tightly around his limbs and throat. Yuzuriha asks Kusanagi why he is protecting her since she is a DoH. Nataku tells Kusanagi that Fuma had said that Kusanagi would betray them and that when he does, to kill him. Nataku tightens his ribbons and blood sprays from Kusanagi's legs and arms. Sorata arrives on the scene and sees Kusanagi protecting Yuzuriha and wonders what is going on. With a determined expression, Kusanagi breaks Nataku's ribbons and grabs Yuzuriha, lifting her out of harms way. While he is in mid-air carrying Yuzuriha, a familiar figure appears out of nowhere and slashes Kusanagi across the chest. Kusanagi crashes on the roof of the shrine, blood pouring from his body. Yuzuriha screams his name and pleads with him to hold on. Sorata stares in shock as lightening flashes, illuminating a figure with a sword standing next to Nataku…Arashi.

Under the Diet Building, Kamui holds a dying Hinoto. She tells Kamui that his suspicions about her were correct, and that she is a sinner. She says that the treachery in her heart caused everyone's destiny to waver. She tells Kamui that the end is near and with her death the power to seal the sword will be broken. When the seal is broken, the power of the "Kamui" from the DoE cannot be stopped and this is why Kamui must go now and retrieve the sword. She tells Kamui that he hasn't truly awakened as the Dragon of Heaven yet and won't be able to use the sword to its fullest extent. She says that even so, she wants to believe in him and asks Kamui if he will let her believe in him. Kamui nods yes, and Hinoto smiles up at him then dies. Kamui holds her sorrowfully while Kanoe, who somehow senses her sister's death, covers her face with her hands and cries. The chains around the Holy Sword break. Fuma senses this as his own Holy Sword begins to resonate. He holds his sword up, saying, "Kamui, it's time to end this."
