Summary

Sorata, Yuzuriha, and Arashi are in the kitchen preparing dinner. Sorata notices Arashi having trouble cutting the vegetables and teases that she is great with a sword but has no skill with a knife. Arashi looks embarrassed and admits she has never cooked before. Sorata used this opportunity to stand behind Arashi and places his on either side of her and his hands over hers. He then demonstrates, using her hands, how to slice an onion. He tells her not to take it too hard and that with practice, she will get good at it. Arashi stands silently within his arms. Yuzuriha asks Sorata to open a jar for her. He leaves Arashi and goes to help her while Arashi stares at the hand Sorata was just holding. Kamui is lying in bed thinking about his fight with Fuma and Saiki's death. Sorata enters the bedroom and tells Kamui the food is ready but Kamui isn't interested in eating dinner. Sorata asks Kamui if he is still thinking about Fuma. Kamui says if he had been more focused, Saiki wouldn't have died. Sorata tells Kamui that he has enough regrets and that he should look ahead and start working on that. Kamui agrees with Sorata, much to Sorata's surprise, and says that if he doesn't start looking to the future he will regret it again. This makes Sorata happy and gets Kamui to come out and join Arashi and Yuzuriha at the dinner table. The others are happy to see Kamui enjoying his food. After dinner, Arashi and Sorata are in the kitchen washing dishes. She tells Sorata that it is amazing that a person who doesn't want to eat has been given the will to eat. Sorata says it's nothing and that Kamui decided on his own. Arashi persists and says it's because something Sorata said that made him feel that way. She says the meaning of eating is the will to live.

Flashback to Arashi's childhood. A young, homeless, Arashi is staring at some garbage in a dumpster. It is raining and a woman with an umbrella comes up and stands behind Arashi, shielding her from the rain with her umbrella. She asks Arashi what she is looking at. Arashi replies she has been trying to decide if she should eat or not. She wonders if there is any meaning to living if you have to eat from the trash. The lady takes Arashi back to her place. She cleans her up, cuts her hair (the same style she wears now) and gives her clean clothes to wear. Arashi is staring down at a plate of food in front of her. The lady asks Arashi if she wants to eat. Arashi replies she hasn't decided yet whether to eat and live or to die. She says that she thought a lonely person like her wouldn't care about life or death. The lady watches Arashi for a moment then tells her she will meet many people from here on. She will meet people who feel for her and people who will reject her. And someday, she will also meet someone who loves her. Arashi looks shocked to hear this and finally looks up from her plate.

Back to present day. Arashi is staring at the plate in her hands that she was drying. She is lost in thoughts of the past. Sorata stares at her, concerned.

The DoH are standing before Hinoto. Hinoto asks Yuzuriha if she is all right now. Yuzuriha replies that she is fine and full of energy. Hinoto inquires about the puppy Yuzuriha is holding. Yuzuriha holds the puppy out and explains to Hinoto that the puppy is Inuki. Hinoto reaches out to pet Inuki and he growls and snaps at her hand. Yuzuriha pulls Inuki back and apologizes to Hinoto. Sorata and Yuzuriha wonder why Inuki acted like that, while Kamui stares at Hinoto thoughtfully. Hinoto tells the DoH that she had a dream and she knows were the DoE will appear next. The DoH split up. Arashi and Yuzuriha go to Inogashira while Kamui and Sorata go to Ginza. Arashi stares after Sorata longingly as they depart. Yuzuriha notices. Later on, Arashi and Yuzuriha are standing by a bridge in the park. Arashi says she doesn't sense anything and Yuzuriha agrees. Yuzuriha asks Arashi what she thinks of Sorata. A surprised Arashi asks why. Yuzuriha giggles and says she saw Arashi making a cute look while Sorata was leaving. Arashi blushes. Yuzuriha tells Arashi that she has someone too that she looks at the same way, someone that she loves. She tells Arashi that she has discovered something when she fell in love, and that is that she will do anything to protect her loved one. Inuki barks his agreement. Yuzuriha wishes Arashi luck with Sorata while Arashi tries to protest Yuzuriha's observations. They are interrupted as Fuma approaches them with an evil smile. At Ginza, Sorata stares up at the sky as red lightening from the DoE flashes in the distance. Arashi and Yuzuriha are running from Fuma. He in tearing up the ground beneath them and throwing trees with his power. Arashi forms a kekkai. Sorata sees it and tells Kamui he is going to Inogashira. Hinoto appears before Sorata and Kamui and tells them that an earthquake will soon occur there and they must stay put and protect Ginza. She disappears and Sorata angrily kicks the railing. Kamui watches him sympathetically and then notices a charm on the ground where Hinoto appeared. Back at Inogashira, Yuzuriha is lying unconscious on the ground. Little Inuki is at her side growling trying to protect her. Standing between Yuzuriha and Fuma is Arashi with her sword drawn and pointed at Fuma. She attacks and the Fuma blows up the ground beneath her feet. At Ginza, Sorata is chanting. He uses his power to send a ghostly demon-beast thing (I don't know for sure what it is) to protect Arashi in his place. At Inogashira, Arashi is lying on the ground. Fuma walks over and grinds his boot on her head. He tells her that when she was seven, she should have chosen to die instead. She looks up at him defiantly. He tells her it's a pity because she is going to kill. She looks at him, confused. He says he is talking about the guy that will die for her. Arashi looks shocked. He leaps away from her and blows up a bridge above Arashi. It splits in two and looks like it will collapse anytime. Arashi is under the bridge trying to stand. She is still reeling from what Fuma told her. She looks up as the bridge collapses and the pieces fall down towards her. In the distance, Fuma smiles. Then the smoke clears and reveals Sorata's demon beast holding up the bridge, protecting Arashi. Fuma blasts the bridge again. The hit damages the demon-beast and Sorata screams, as he is hurt too. Whatever damage the creature he summoned takes, happens to Sorata as well. Fuma is surprised to see that even after his blast the beast still holds up the bridge. He smiles and walks off. At Ginza, Sorata is on the ground in a large pool of his own blood. He is glowing and chanting. Kamui calls his name, alarmed. The pieces of the bridge remain suspended in the air above an unconscious Arashi. She comes to and gazes up at the bridge and the beast in awe. Yuzuriha yells at Arashi to get out of there as the bridge collapses. As the dust settles, Yuzuriha holds onto Arashi and asks if she is all right. Arashi replies that she is fine and asks what that demon-beast was. Yuzuriha says she doesn't know but it looks like it came to save Arashi. Realization dawns on Arashi and she leaps across building rooftops, anxious to get to Sorata. She arrives to find Sorata severely injured and bleeding. He is being supported by Kamui who is pleading with him to hold on. Arashi runs towards Sorata calling his name. She falls on her knees in front of him and Sorata awakes. He asks her if she is hurt. She says she is not and to never mind that since he is the one injured. She starts crying as Sorata tells her it's okay as long as she is safe. He smiles at her and then coughs up a bunch of blood and passes out. Arashi and Kamui scream his name and plead with him to hang in there. Later on at CLAMP Campus, Arashi is sitting next to Sorata's hospital bed, watching him sleep. He has bandages around both arms and hands and around his head. She looks at him sadly as she recalls Kamui telling her earlier that Sorata's right hand may not be able to move anymore. Sorata awakes and is happy to see Arashi next to him. He tells her she looks beautiful as always, surprising her. He tries to sit up and is shocked when his right hand will barely move. Sorata laughs and says it looks like he still needs some more training. Arashi watches him and then starts to cry. She says Sorata did this to protect her. Sorata tell her not to cry, that he can't stand it when he sees a woman cry. He says his hand will heal soon and promises to make her something to good to eat after it heals. He jokes around about all the different dishes he will make for her while Arashi shakes her head as her tears continue. She interrupts him and angrily asks him what about her feelings. She covers her face with her hands and tells him that he is ignoring her feelings. Sorata misunderstands and tells her he knows that she doesn't have any feelings for him but he protected her based upon his own feelings and hers shouldn't matter. Arashi cries out that her feelings do matter. She asks Sorata if he really thinks she would be alright if he were hurt or killed. Sorata looks stunned by her outburst. She haltingly starts to tell Sorata she loves him, when he interrupts her. He reaches out and touches her hair and tells her he understands in his own way. He asks her if she will let him believe she has feelings for him. Arashi nods, tears streaming down her face. Sorata smiles and tells Arashi not to cry, he is really happy. She tells Sorata that she has never cried in front of anyone before and she cannot control it. Sorata smiles and tells her that means he is the first to have this. Arashi looks up at him, surprised. They stare at each other. Then Sorata places his hand on her shoulder and with a serious look, asks her if he can have one other thing. Arashi's eyes widen in surprise and then close as Sorata's hand tightens on the blanket and he leans over and kisses her.

The next morning Sorata awakes and looks at the empty space next to him on the bed. Arashi is gone. He stares out the window, confused and concerned.

Arashi is walking towards the DoEs headquarters, her eyes angry and determined. Fuma senses her approach and awaits her arrival.
